Carol J Amato has co-written articles with Jeanne Lazo.  After becoming disabled, Jeanne Lazo spent the five years struggling with declining health and the stigma of being a disabled employee. Applying her consulting skills and knowledge gained in the business world, she became convinced that a better solution could be found to the resource-draining effects of disability on employers and the U.S. economy. Employees lack knowledge about how the disability system works, their rights and how to rebuild their lives. The lack of knowledge fostered the premises for their book, Persistence is Power: A real-world guide for the newly disabled employee.
